Get to know your targets, trading limits, and how each rule works — with simple examples along the way. Rules vary by challenge, so check your chosen challenge for the details that apply to you.
Your daily equity floor is calculated from equity observed at 00:00 UTC, not from balance. Equity includes unrealized profit or loss on open positions, so closing profitable positions while keeping floating losses open does not raise the reference unless equity itself is higher. Your starting balance is used on the first day until the first daily reset.
Reaching the floor is within the limit. Going below it is a breach, even if your equity later recovers or a new day begins. Balance alone cannot cause a breach. Your maximum total drawdown limit also continues to apply.
With $10,500 equity as the daily reference and a 2% limit, the floor is $10,290. Equity at $10,290 is within the limit; equity below $10,290 breaches it.
Static drawdown means your equity floor is based on your starting balance and does not move.
While in trailing drawdown, your equity floor follows the highest qualifying equity observed throughout the phase, including intraday observations. A balance increase alone does not raise the floor, and later trading losses do not lower the lifetime high-water.
Reaching the floor is within the limit. Going below it is a breach. When a confirmed payout is deducted, the daily equity reference and trailing high-water are adjusted before the percentage floor is calculated. A static floor stays unchanged, and the trailing floor never falls below its starting-balance floor.
A $10,000 starting balance with an 8% static limit gives a $9,200 floor. A qualifying observed equity high of $11,200 with a 3% trailing limit gives a $10,864 floor.
The target is measured against your starting balance using cumulative net closed profit. Commissions, swaps, and supported corrections are included; unrealized profit on open positions does not count.
Once you reach the target and meet the other phase requirements, your account can move to review.
A 5% target on a $10,000 account means reaching $500 in net closed profit during that phase.
A trading day counts when at least one trade closes during that UTC date. Several closed trades on the same date still count as one day, and the day does not have to finish in profit.
The count belongs to the current phase attempt. Activity does not carry into a fresh phase account.
Closing trades on three different UTC dates meets a three-day requirement. Closing three trades on one UTC date counts as one trading day.
A completed UTC day qualifies when its net closed profit is greater than zero after trading costs. Each date counts once, qualifying days need not be consecutive, and unrealized profit does not count.
There is no minimum dollar amount or percentage for a profitable day unless your challenge terms specify a minimum. The rule is evaluated within the current phase attempt.
A day with $40 in closed gains and $25 in closed losses qualifies if the net result after costs stays positive. A day ending at exactly $0 does not.
Only trades closed within the current phase attempt count. Open positions do not count until they close, and the count starts fresh with a new phase account.
Meeting the trade count does not replace a profit target, trading-day requirement, or any other rule included in your terms.
If your requirement is ten closed trades, eight closed trades and two open positions count as eight. Once both positions close, you reach ten.
The phase clock begins when the phase activates. Its deadline is that activation time plus the duration in your purchased terms—not the end of the final calendar date.
Plan around your deadline in UTC while working toward every requirement that applies to the phase.
A 30-day phase activated at 14:00 UTC on September 1 expires at 14:00 UTC on October 1.
The timer starts when your trading account is created. It restarts whenever a trade is executed to open, add to, or close all or part of a position. It runs in complete 24-hour periods, including weekends.
An unfilled order, an unchanged open position, or a payout does not restart the timer. You must complete one of these trading actions before the deadline. Trading after the deadline cannot clear a confirmed inactivity breach.
With a 30-day limit, opening a position at 10:00 UTC on September 1 sets the next deadline at 10:00 UTC on October 1. You must open, add to, or close all or part of a position before then.
This rule measures each position from its opening time to its closing time. It applies per position rather than to the total time you have traded the account.
If overnight holding is allowed, you still need to close each position within the maximum holding period.
With a two-day holding limit, plan to close each position within two days of its opening time.
When overnight holding is allowed, a position may stay open across midnight UTC. When it is not allowed, the position must be closed before midnight UTC.
An overnight position still affects equity, so drawdown limits and any maximum holding period continue to apply.
A position open at 23:59:59 UTC and still open at 00:00:00 UTC has crossed the overnight boundary.
The profits from your five most profitable closed trades are added together and divided by the positive phase profit used for the rule. The result measures profit amounts, not the number of winning trades.
Losses can reduce total phase profit and increase the top-five percentage even when the five best trades have not changed.
If the five best trades made $600 and the applicable positive phase profit is $1,000, their share is 60%. That meets a 60% maximum; a higher share exceeds it.
The split applies to net closed profit in the current funded payout cycle once every payout requirement is met. You request your full eligible share. When settlement completes, the full cycle profit, including the company share, is deducted from your trading account.
Your account must meet any applicable profitable-day requirement and have no permanent breach. It must also have no open positions, pending entry orders, or other active payout requests.
With $1,000 in eligible cycle profit and an 80% split, your share is $800 and the company share is $200. The full $1,000 is deducted from the trading account at settlement.
Your first payout can become available one week after your funded account is ready. After each confirmed payout, the next payout can become available one week later.
Your account must still meet all the other payout requirements.
If your funded account is ready at 14:30 UTC on Monday, the one-week wait ends at 14:30 UTC the following Monday.
Keep in mind
Your chosen challenge has its own set of rules. You don’t need to meet every rule listed on this page.
